Recently I visited billiards clubs one or two days for sketching and seeing the games with BH Yoo. But this time we went to the MVL Goyang Hotel four times because the PBA(Professional Billiards Association) Tour Tryout was holding during 11 days from Apr. 21 to May 1. While visiting there we could see lots of games between famous players and unknown great ones aged from twenties to sixties. While seeing the games and sketching we clapped for the nice scenes and sighed at the losing game by one or two points. The indoor sports arena installed in the convention hall was spectacular. Additionally we could find that lots of people including caster and commentator liked to see us sketch and felt so happy to receive a sketch from me. They hoped that such cultural events could happen in billiards game fields as in other sports or festivals.
Sketching brought a new start with a young judge who was directing the disabled billiards players for years. He addressed us what for we've been sketching. We explained about urban sketching and sharing them with people. He asked us to draw those players when the game to open once a month. He let us know the home page(Korea Billiard Association For The Disabled). Sketching seemed to bless us by meeting nice people and making us see the world in deeper and wider viewpoints. 지난 주, 일산의 엠블호텔 컨벤션에서 11일간 열린 PBA(프로당구협회)Tour 트라이아웃 전국선수선발대회를 BH Yoo와 함께 4차례 관람하며 스케치했습니다.전국에서 온 300여명의 내노라하는 강호의 유명선수들의 열띤 승부열기와 함께 스케일 큰 대회분위기를 만끽하며 편한 자리에서 스케치하는 행운을 얻었습니다~ 왕년의 당구스타 장성출 선수를 비롯한 유명선수들을 피부로 접할 수 있었습니다. 빌리어즈TV 권재일 캐스터와 황득희 위원에게 스케치를 선물하면서 주최 관계인사들로부터 당구에 예술문화를 접목시킨다는 호평을 받아 보람있었고, 어반스케쳐로서 많은 에너지를 얻은 산체험의 보람있는 시간이었습니다. 행사 관계자님들께 감사드리며 투혼을 살려 훌륭한 경기를 펼친 선수들께 성원의 박수를 보내드립니다~~

Last Sunday, Yoo Byung-hwa and I went to the "J Billiards Club" in the building of "Billiard Academy in Seoul"(서울당구학교) located at Jamwon-dong(잠원동), Seoul. There was a big game of the 14th 3-Cushion championship for the Seoul City Mayor's Flag (제14회 서울시장기 당구대회) supported by Seoul Billiards Federation and Seoul City.  We could see famous star players such as Cho Jae-Ho and Cho Myung-Woo and other female players we've seen on TV. Several times' visits to the billiards clubs gave different impression according to the location of the floors, scale, and the decoration. That day it was the best as far as we've experienced. Benches were laid a little higher than the floor. And we occupied the nearest one sitting side by side and we could keep sketching for hours.
The end March we met a staff, Park Ji-Young of Seoul Billiards Federation (서울당구연맹) at SL Club. She showed much interest in sketch, especially my work and took a photo. This time we met again and greeted warmly. She asked us to draw well letting us know who was the famous player, Cho Jae-Ho. We tried and tried of course. He won the first prize at last. This time it was special that we could see the female players' game in front of the game table. They looked so nice as models for drawing too. The female game winner Kim Min-Ah liked very much looking at her sketch drawn by me. The staff said that she kept visiting to our blog. Much thanks to her!

Korea Institute of Registered Architects (KIRA: 대한건축사협회) runs lots of hobby clubs such as climbing, music, photography, golf, billiard, and so on. I've participated in billiard club since last year. Last week on Jun. 27, there was a friendly match of billiard club members. Though I'm not good at playing game, I usually like to watch international billiards games very much. On that day I was knocked out of the tournament in the 1st round because most of participants' scores were higher than mine. But I could have enough time to sketch every scene I want to draw. Additionally, many members surrounded me and were pleased seeing the sketches on the spot. They cheered me and asked to upload them on the website. Everybody had exciting moments in games and delicious Chinese dishes during the break time. I had a wonderful time enjoying sketches and billiards with many familiar architects.

지난 주, 6월 27일 "대한건축사협회" 당구동호회 모임이 있었습니다.

학창시절 후 수십년 끊고 있다가 최근에 다시 시작하는데~

1라운드에서 탈락한 덕분에 스케치를 맘껏 하니 전화위복입니다. 

한 장소, 많은 시간, 많은 소재들과 호흡하며 스케치하는 "해피 데이"였습니다~~
